Police spent about RM2 million and deployed 11,046 police personnel to maintain order in the Klang Valley before and after the July 9 illegal assembly.
Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said the total included 2,600 personnel who were on standby at several contingents throughout the country.
“Police have to made detailed preparations which required expenditure for the acquisition of additional equipment, lodging and other logistics,” he said in a written reply to a question by Teresa Kok Suh Sim (DAP-Seputeh) in Parliament today.
