Bangladeshi pleads not guilty to molesting college student

A Bangladeshi man pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate’s Court today to molesting a 19-year-old private college
female student six days ago.

Md Kamruzaman Chansarif, 28, a supermarket worker, is alleged to have embraced and kissed the victim’s cheek in front of the fifth floor lift at Kolej Segi in Jalan Hang Lekiu, Dang Wangi about 12.30pm on Sept 20.

The accused, who was unrepresented, is charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years or a fine or whipping, or both of any of the punishments, on conviction.

Magistrate Siti Shakirah Mohtarudin fixed Oct 31 for mention.

Chief Insp D.R Ghanthi Nathan prosecuted.
