A man stabbed his parents to death last night for refusing to sell their house in Mile 1, Jalan Utara, Sandakan.
The 31-year-old man also stabbed his elder sister in the incident at their home at 10.45pm, Sandakan OCPD ACP Rowell Marong said.
The 70-year-old father and 60-year-old mother were stabbed in the chest, killing them on the spot, while his sister, 37, was stabbed in the stomach.
She had been admitted to the Duchess of Kent Hospital, here, and her condition is reported to be stable, he said.
The father’s body was found sprawled in the master bedroom while the mother’s was on a sofa in the living room.
Rowell said initial investigations showed that the man was angry when his father refused his request to sell the house to get money to start a business.
The father also told him that the ownership of the house had been transferred to the man’s sister.
The vegetable grower had previously threatened to stab his parents if they refused to adhere to his request, he said.
The man fled the scene after the incident but was arrested when he returned to the house in a car.
Police recovered a knife believed to be the weapon used in the attack.
