Actuary Today,  is held to instill the correct perception of the actuarial profession to the public.

Through this event, the public will be able to better understand and be more aware of an actuary’s career and also to enhance the knowledge on potential employment and prospects in the field.

Actuary Today is divided into 3 parts:

a)      Great Eastern’s Actuarial Science Competition

This competition is open to secondary school and pre-university level students.  It will expose students to the fundamentals of actuarial sciences. Students will challenge themselves to find out their potential of become an actuary.

b)      Actuarial Challenge

Five selected universities (consisting UTAR,UM,UKM,UITM,USIM) will required to send 6 students to participate in this competition. Their final work presentation will be open to the public during the event, visitors will able to see how undergraduates students perform in actuarial model presentation and hear comments from judges.

C) Acturial Exposition

Actuarial exhibition, seminars and talks will all be held throughout the event. There will also be mock interview sessions, especially for graduate students to grab a chance to be interviewed by actuaries.

Admission is free and door gifts will be given to the first 500 visitors.
