KOTA KINABALU – The Sabah government welcomes Welfare and Education Association of Kadazandusun Murut’s (Pekadin) proposal to set up a Kadazandusun college as it would give more opportunities to Sabahans in getting quality education, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
It was also in line with the state government’s intention to create more institutions of higher learning so that Sabahans could study in their home state, he said when opening a traditional sports festival in conjunction with the Kaamatan (Harvest) festival here today. He said he hoped the college would also be open to other communities as well.
Musa also urged the people of Sabah to continue practising their generations-old customs and traditions, as their values would keep Sabahans united. He said Sabah was well known for its ‘spirit of togetherness’ although there were people of different cultures and beliefs and stressed that this beautiful uniqueness must be preserved to maintain a harmonious Sabah.
