The women aged between 28 and 37 were entertaining customers when they were nabbed by about 20 immigration officers at about 11.30pm, said Penang Immigration Department deputy director Abdul Rahman Hassan.

He said the raid was made after a one-week surveillance at the centre following information from the public. “Some customers and GROs tried in vain to flee from the four-storey premises.

“Nine of the women had abused their social visit passes while two others are without valid travel documents,” he said, adding that all of them were detained at the Immigration Detention Depot.
