Thirty-eight traders in Brickfields who had to move to a temporary site to make way for the “Little India” development project can now operate at the original site.
Federal Territories and Urban Well-being Minister Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said today 20 foodstalls and 18 fruit and flower stalls had been built and the traders could operate from the new premises.
“However, work to build 39 more stalls in Jalan Chan Ah Tong was ongoing and these traders will have to continue trading at the temporary site until they are completed,” he told reporters after handing over the licences to the 38 Little India traders, here.
Raja Nong Chik said the Little India project was not just a beautification project but also one to help uplift the economic status of the people there.
