CJMYSri Kota Specialist Medical Centre recently celebrated the Malaysia Ice-Skating Federation (MISF) with a celebration luncheon held at the Saujana Hotel, Shah Alam. It was in conjunction with the Malaysian Ice-Skating team’s outstanding accomplishment in Manila.
Julian Yee retained his men’s figure skating gold medal and the quartet of Kynie Chan, Ashley Chin, Anja Chong, and Dione Tan bagged the gold medal in the women’s 3,000m short track speed relay. Dione Tan achieved silver medal while Anja Chong achieved bronze medal in the women’s 500m short track speed. Moreover Dione Tan also attained a bronze medal in the women’s 1000m short track speed.
Madam Tan Suet Guan, Hospital Director of Sri Kota said: “With utmost pride and joy, Sri Kota congratulates the MISF team and all Malaysian athletes for their well- deserved success in Manila. Thank you for inspiring and motivating all Malaysians to strive towards excellence.”
Sri Kota also took the initiative to contribute and support the MISF athletes in terms of locations, facilities and resources for practice.
“The contribution of RM 50,000 to the MISF athletes is part of Sri Kota’s efforts to not only celebrate their stellar achievement and impressive performance but more importantly, to promote the uptake of sport and physical activities particularly with the Malaysian youth,” she added.
As part of its 20th anniversary efforts Sri Kota went the extra mile towards locating its pioneer babies who were delivered there 20 years ago. Three of its pioneer babies were each awarded with a RM10,000 scholarship to support their tertiary education.
Sri Kota continues to serve the community by organising initiatives towards educating 1065 pre-school students from fifteen pre-schools in Klang on the importance of proper hygiene.
It also presented Hospice Klang and the National Cancer Society of Malaysia with a contribution of RM5,000.00 each in recognition of their efforts in providing the best possible care and support for those who are affected by cancer. It was in line with the operation of Sri Kota’s newly upgraded cancer centre and its initiative to support and aid cancer patients.
