Sri Kota donates 20000 face mask to schools as classes resume

As part of Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre’s continued mission to serve the Klang community and beyond, the leading flagship tertiary healthcare provider made a contribution of 20,000 face masks with eye shields to nineteen primary and secondary schools while twelve pre-schools in Klang received 1,000 mask keepers as classes resume last week.

The face masks were part of a donation to help the aforementioned schools as they re-open following the directive from the Ministry of Education Malaysia after four months of closure due to the varying degrees of restrictive movement in Malaysia as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Representatives from the Specialist Centre delivered the face masks with eye shield and the face mask keepers from 14^th to 29^thJuly 2020 along with educational buntings with printed infographics on safety guidelines which will help the schools maintain a safe and COVID-19 free environment. 

Sri Kota’s Hospital Director, Madam Tan Suet Guan said: “It’s a community effort to get schools to re-open. We all want our children back to schools and to continue with their education hence we must be willing to do what it takes keep them healthy and safe. Additionally, we also want to send the message that healthcare providers have a sustained responsibility to protect our surrounding communities. Sri Kota will strive to always do our best to be part of the solution.” 

“We hope the face masks with eye shield, face mask keepers and educational buntings will encourage others – especially corporations and businesses, to continue assisting the public in slowing (and eventually, to curb) the spread of the virus,” continued Tan.

“We have great appreciation towards Sri Kota’s management for caring about the health and safety of our children, not just during these extraordinary times, but throughout the year by conducting many corporate social responsibility initiatives with the local (Klang) community.” Ms. Angeline Chan, Chairman of SJKC Perempuan, Klang Teachers and Parents Association extended her gratitude in recognition of the donation received from Sri Kota.
