UMW Toyota Motor has cut the Toyota Prius on-the-road price with insurance in Peninsular Malaysia to RM139,900 from RM175,000, effective today.
The price in Sabah and Sarawak is about RM141,500 due to higher logistics costs.
In a statement today, UMW Toyota Motor said the move was in line with the extension and enhancement of tax incentives for hybrid cars effective from Jan 1, 2011 until Dec 31, 2011, announced by the government in the 2011 Budget recently.
“Since the announcement, we have proactively reviewed our current Toyota Prius price even though the effective date is on Jan 1, 2011.
“With this, Malaysians can enjoy our most popular Hybrid car, Prius, at a more affordable price,” UMW Toyota Motor President Kuah Kock Heng said in a statement today.
