Three people, including a man and his grandson, were killed in two separate accidents in Slim River and Manjung, yesterday and today.
In the first incident at Km364.9 of the North-South Expressway near Slim River, a Syarikat Propel Berhad staff was killed when a car from the north crashed into him.
Tanjung Malim police chief Supt Mohd Ali Nayan said in the 10am incident today, Udoh Lamin, 70, who was from Tapah, was driving a company car when he stopped by the road shoulder and was rammed by a car from behind.
When contacted today, Mohd Ali said the victim died of serious injuries and was sent to the Slim River Hospital.
The other driver, who was heading towards Kuala Lumpur from Ipoh, only sustained minor injuries and received outpatient treatment at the same hospital, he added.
Meanwhile, in the second incident, a man and his grandson were killed when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a car at Km1 of Jalan Sitiawan-Kampung Koh yesterday.
Manjung police chief ACP Mohd Jamil Osman said K.Navin, 11, died on the spot from critical head injuries in the 9.50am incident, while K.Arokiasamy, 78, died at 7.30pm while receiving treatment at the Manjung Hospital.
They were said to have been on their way from Sitiawan to Kampung Koh when they were hit by a car from the back, causing both of them to be flung onto the road, he said.
He added that the car driver was uninjured and had lodged a police report on the accident.
