Cheah emphasised that the forthcoming year will witness the establishment of ten new branches in West Malaysia as part of the expansion strategy. He expressed Giant’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that customers nationwide have access to their offerings.

The cost of launching one Giant hypermarket is estimated at RM8 million, and the company has allocated a budget ranging from RM400 million to RM500 million to realise its objective of 50 new branches over the next five years.

This financial commitment underscores Giant’s determination to strengthen its position as a leading retailer in the Malaysian market.

The inauguration of the Giant Rawang Hypermarket serves as the inaugural stride in Giant Malaysia’s extensive expansion programme. The Rawang branch promises an extensive array of products at competitive prices, reinforcing the company’s dedication to providing “Great Variety and Great Value” to its communities.

In celebration of its 79th anniversary, Giant has earmarked RM79 million to lower prices, extending gratitude to loyal customers and the community for their steadfast support. The Giant Rawang Hypermarket has also opened its doors with a special treat for shoppers, offering exciting activities and promotions from September 15th to 24th, including daily deals with items priced as low as 10 sen.

Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Fuziah Salleh, graced the opening event alongside Cheah, further highlighting the significance of this expansion endeavour.
