Indonesia AirAsia, the low-cost carrier, unveiled its commitment to boosting Indonesia’s tourism and economy through the introduction of Jakarta-Kota Kinabalu international routes.

Indonesia AirAsia President Director Veranita Yosephine Sinaga announced the opening of the the Jakarta-Kota Kinabalu international route. With a focus on connectivity and collaboration, these routes mark the airline’s dedication to supporting the nation’s recovery efforts.

The Jakarta-Kota Kinabalu international route, the fifth international route, is scheduled for its inaugural flight on February 6, 2024, operating three days a week.

In its pursuit of international connectivity, Indonesia AirAsia announced the Jakarta-Kota Kinabalu route, its fifth international addition in 2023.

This strategic route is scheduled for its maiden flight on February 6, 2024, and will operate three days a week. By expanding its international footprint, the airline aims to contribute to the acceleration of tourism recovery and stimulate the local economy.

Veranita highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts with regional stakeholders and neighbouring countries, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to working collectively to overcome challenges and foster economic growth.

Apart from the Jakarta-Kota Kinabalu route Veranita also emphasised Indonesia AirAsia’s role in fortifying domestic connectivity with the introduction of the Bali-Lampung route.

Commencing operations on January 17, 2024, the route will facilitate travel four days a week. This marks the airline’s sixth domestic route inaugurated this year, showcasing its commitment to enhancing accessibility within Indonesia.

The move aligns with the airline’s dedication to supporting the tourism industry, which is actively promoting various destinations to attract both foreign and domestic tourists, especially as the year-end approaches.

The utilisation of Airbus A320 aircraft, equipped to accommodate 180 passengers, ensures efficient and comfortable travel for passengers exploring these exciting destinations.
