Batik Air, a leading regional airline, has announced the launch of direct flights connecting Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Batam, Indonesia (BTH).
This new route, starting February 16th, 2024, offers convenient connections and aims to boost tourism between the two Southeast Asian nations.
Three-weekly flights by Batik Air
The three-times-weekly service provides a smooth travel experience with flights departing KLIA on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 4:10 PM, arriving in BTH at 4:20 PM local time.
The return flights depart BTH at 1:15 PM, arriving in KUL at 3:25 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
“This launch represents a strategic move as we expand our presence in key markets,” said Batik Air CEO, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy.
“Beyond direct connectivity, the route allows passengers from Batam to connect to our extensive network of 53 destinations across 22 countries via KLIA.”
Gateway to captivating destinations
Batam, a popular tourist destination known for its beaches, golf courses, and strategic location, welcomes the new route.
Passengers can explore the pristine beaches of Melayu, Nongsa, and Viovio, or tee off at world-class golf courses amidst stunning landscapes.
KLIA, a prominent aviation hub, provides seamless access to captivating Malaysian destinations like Penang, Langkawi, and Kuching.
This new route offers greater flexibility for leisure and business travelers, potentially stimulating tourism and strengthening bilateral ties between Malaysia and Indonesia.
The inaugural flight, OD357, received a warm welcome at KLIA on February 16th, with passengers receiving goodie bags from Malaysian and Indonesian officials.
Batik Air is offering special promotional fares starting from RM139, allowing passengers to experience a comfortable and delightful journey on their Boeing 737 aircraft.
