Costa Serena sets sail from Port Klang to Phuket

Costa Serena, a 3,780-passenger cruise ship, sets sail on four-day/five-night voyages from Port Klang to Phuket, Thailand, throughout March.

Costa Serena’s Southeast Asian debut

This season marks Costa Serena’s inaugural home porting in Port Klang.

Costa Cruises partnered with Hwajing Travel & Tours to launch the first-ever seasonal cruise series from Port Klang in the first quarter of 2024.

This initiative is seen as a significant development for Malaysia’s tourism industry, showcasing its potential as a cruise destination and boosting the local economy.

Costa Serena has adapted its offerings to cater to the needs of Muslim travelers in Southeast Asia.

Cruise options and future deployments

The cruise line offers a variety of itineraries, including a three-day/two-night voyage to Penang and a four-day/five-night option with an additional stop in Phuket.

Following the Southeast Asian season, Costa Serena will return to its homeport in Keelung, Taiwan, joining other cruise lines like Ponant Le Soleal that have chosen Keelung as their base.

Additionally, Norwegian Spirit will be making dual homeports in Keelung and Kaohsiung this summer.
