Syasya bids farewell to DOLLA

Syasya, also known as Noor Syasya Afiqah Shahrizal, a prominent member of the Malaysian pop group DOLLA, has announced her resignation from the group due to personal reasons. The news was shared through an Instagram post by the official DOLLA account, where the group expressed their understanding of Syasya’s decision.

“We are aware that Syasya’s recent absence has raised various questions among all of you. With heavy hearts, we would like to announce that Syasya has decided to resign as a member of DOLLA due to personal reasons.” DOLLA conveyed in the Instagram statement.

The news of Syasya’s resignation has stirred reactions, especially from fans who were surprised given the group’s outstanding performances in China, garnering significant attention. Many expressed disagreement with Syasya’s decision and urged Universal Music Malaysia to persuade her to stay with the renowned Malaysian music group.

Universal Music Malaysia charts next steps

Kim Lim, the Managing Director of Universal Music Malaysia, revealed that the remaining members of DOLLA, namely Angel, Sabronzo, and Tabby, will continue their artistic journey for fans both within and outside the country.

“In fact, this year Universal Music Malaysia has made various plans to ensure that the group shines on the Southeast Asian music stage, and we will continue with those plans,” Lim stated.

Tabby expressed sadness over the decision but assured full support for Syasya, hoping for the best for the 23-year-old singer. Sabronzo reiterated their commitment to the group’s success, while Angel emphasized the strong bond they share as a family.

“Our relationship is very close, and we still consider Syasya as part of the DOLLA family. The friendships we’ve built will not just disappear,” Angel affirmed.

Established in 2019 under Universal Music Malaysia, DOLLA gained local music enthusiasts’ attention with their debut single ‘DOLLA Make You Wanna’ released on March 20, 2020. The group has since released six solo singles, including hits like ‘Impikan’ and ‘BAD,’ along with a full album titled ‘New Classic’ in November 2023.

DOLLA, consisting of Angel, Sabronzo, Tabby, and Syasya, received several accolades, including the Top Meletop Group/Duo Award at the Meletop Era Awards 2021 and the Popular Collaboration/Group Artist Award at the 35th Berita Harian Popular Star Awards (ABPBH35) in 2022. Despite Syasya’s departure, the remaining members are determined to continue their journey in DOLLA, striving to deliver the best for fans and media supporters.
