Melaka names Fan Bingbing as tourism ambassador

Melaka, a historic Malaysian state renowned for its cultural charm, is gearing up for a surge in tourism with the appointment of acclaimed Chinese actress Fan Bingbing as its official ambassador.

Melaka Chief Minister Ab Rauf Yusoh announced the exciting news, highlighting Fan’s influence in attracting visitors, particularly from China and Asia.

Fan’s visit to Melaka is scheduled for June 14th to 16th, 2024, coinciding with the official launch of the state’s “Visit Melaka 2024” campaign.

During this period, she will be formally appointed as Melaka’s tourism ambassador.

“I believe the presence of Fan Bingbing…will attract more tourists,” Ab Rauf stated in a Facebook post.

Fan’s international fame is expected to significantly boost Melaka’s tourism appeal, particularly among Chinese and Asian audiences.

This strategic move aligns with Malaysia’s broader efforts to revitalise its tourism sector.

Ab Rauf recently met Jersey Chong, the manager representing international artist Fan Bingbing, at Seri Negeri.

This meeting was held to detail Fan Bingbing’s visit to Melaka from 14 to 16 June 2024.
