The search for Miss Universe Malaysia 2024 is officially underway, and the call to action has been sounded by none other than Eleen Yong, the newly appointed National Director of the Miss Universe Malaysia Organization. Announced via a vibrant video on social media, Eleen invited Malaysian women to seize this golden opportunity to shine on a global stage.

“We are excited to announce that Miss Universe Malaysia 2024 is now open for registration. To all incredible Malaysian women out there, it’s your time to shine,” Eleen proclaimed, her message echoing across various social media platforms.

A New Vision Under Eleen Yong

Eleen Yong, who took over as National Director last month, brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the role. As the Head of Elpis Models Academy, Eleen has made significant strides in the modeling industry, both locally and internationally. Her journey began in 2009 when she clinched the first runner-up spot in the Ford Supermodels of the World Malaysia reality series, followed by her victory in the Miss Malaysia International Model of the Year competition the same year. Her impressive 179cm frame and captivating presence soon took her to fashion capitals around the globe, including China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Italy.

Breaking Barriers: Expanded Eligibility Criteria

In a bold move, the Miss Universe Malaysia Organization has removed the age limit for this year’s pageant, previously capped at 28 years old. This change reflects a more inclusive approach, recognizing that beauty and talent transcend age. The comprehensive list of eligibility criteria for contestants is as follows:

  • A non-Muslim Malaysian female citizen.
  • Single, married, divorced, or with a child can join.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • At least 168 cm in height.
  • Able to communicate in any of these languages: English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, or Tamil.
  • Able to personify all the values and attributes of being Miss Universe Malaysia, including confidence, strong work ethics, commitment, professionalism, talent, grace, and beauty.

With registration open from June 20th to July 13th, 2024, aspiring queens have a limited window to take their shot at the crown.
