Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) has become the academic destination of choice for a set of quadruplets from Kazakhstan. Alikhan, Alizhan, Zaragul, and Zeregul, all 17 years old, have chosen APU to pursue their higher education.
Upon their arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the quadruplets were warmly received by representatives from the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), the Embassy of Kazakhstan, and APU at the EMGS International Student Arrival Centre (ISAC).
Their decision to study at APU reflects the growing trend of international students selecting Malaysia for its multicultural environment and quality education system.
APU welcomes Kazakh quadruplets
The Kazakh quadruplets have enrolled in different foundation courses: Alikhan and Alizhan in Foundation in Engineering, and Zaragul and Zeregul in Foundation in Business & Finance.
Their choice of APU highlights the university’s international appeal, with students from over 130 countries already on campus.
“APU has a long-standing relationship with students from Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries,” said Datuk Parmjit Singh, CEO of APU.
“We are honoured that the parents of Alikhan, Alizhan, Zaragul, and Zeregul have entrusted us with their children’s education. APU is proud to offer a transformative experience, empowering students from all over the world to become highly employable professionals.”
Datuk Parmjit also highlighted APU’s distinction as the only Malaysian university accredited by the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).
This accreditation underscores the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, which continues to attract students seeking a globally recognised education.
Malaysia: A growing hub for international students
Kazakhstan has become one of the top 10 countries with the highest number of international students choosing Malaysia for higher education.
According to EMGS statistics, over 1,900 Kazakh students have applied to study in Malaysia since 2020, and the number continues to grow.
Novie Tajuddin, CEO of EMGS, expressed his enthusiasm for welcoming the quadruplets: “It is an honour to have the Kazakh siblings join our academic community.
We believe that Malaysia’s world-class education and warm hospitality will provide them with an unforgettable experience.”
Tajuddin also emphasised Malaysia’s position as a global education hub, supported by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MoHE).
“We are dedicated to making Malaysia the education hub of choice for students around the world,” he added.
Kyran Orynbekov, Consular from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Malaysia, was also present to greet the siblings and extend his best wishes.
“The Embassy of Kazakhstan will always support our students in Malaysia. We are confident they will thrive here,” he said.
APU has long been a leader in providing a vibrant, multicultural educational experience. With over 80,000 alumni worldwide, the university continues to stay at the forefront of global developments, ensuring its students gain relevant, up-to-date knowledge.
“Our students benefit from a multicultural campus and a curriculum designed to meet the demands of the global job market,” said Parmjit Singh.
“The quadruplets have chosen a university that will prepare them for future challenges, and we look forward to seeing their transformation into global professionals.”
