Community drive delivers vital supplies to children’s homes

Rockwills donates over 1,000 essentials to two Selangor children’s homes, supporting 68 kids, including those with developmental challenges.

Two children’s homes in Selangor have received a vital boost after a community donation drive collected more than 1,000 essential items, underscoring strong public support for vulnerable children. The beneficiaries, Trinity Community Children Home Society and Shelter Home for Children, care for about 68 children, including several with developmental challenges.

Donations ranged from staple food supplies—such as rice, oats, chocolate drinks, instant noodles, milk powder, and cooking oil—to personal hygiene products and household essentials like detergent, toothpaste, and tissues. The initiative comes at a time when rising living costs have heightened financial pressures on many charitable organisations.

A representative from one of the homes expressed deep gratitude for the contributions. “Every item we’ve received will help lighten our monthly expenses and ensure the children’s daily needs are met,” the spokesperson said.

The campaign was coordinated by the Rockwills Group, whose estate planners, staff, volunteers, and members of the public came together to support the cause. The goods were formally handed over to the homes by Rockwills representatives, including Sam Chan, Assistant General Manager of Rockwills Corporation.

Tan Mei Yin, CEO of Rockwills Corporation Sdn Bhd, emphasised the importance of unity in addressing community needs. “It is heartening to see so many individuals and groups step forward. This is what community spirit is about,” she said.

Organisers noted that the effort reflects the Malaysian tradition of gotong-royong—working together for the common good—and they hope the campaign will inspire similar initiatives to support children’s welfare and other vulnerable groups.

Legacy of service and community spirit

Rockwills International Group, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, pioneered professional will writing in Malaysia in 1995. Over the decades, it has grown into the nation’s leading estate planning specialist, providing solutions and support services for trusts, succession, management, and wealth distribution. To date, the group has prepared over 320,000 wills, facilitated more than 200,000 Executor and Trustee Appointments, and holds over RM25 billion in assets under trust.

By leveraging its network and influence, Rockwills has demonstrated how established corporations can mobilise resources to address pressing social challenges. The Selangor donation drive not only lightened the financial burden of the two homes but also reinforced the belief that collective action can make a tangible difference.

In an era of economic uncertainty, the outpouring of generosity stands as a reminder that Malaysia’s tradition of community solidarity remains strong. Through simple yet meaningful acts, the public has shown that the welfare of the nation’s most vulnerable children continues to be a shared responsibility.
