CITTA Mall’s Monster Party returns with a spooktacular celebration

CITTA Mall’s annual Monster Party returned with dazzling costumes, laughter, and community spirit, uniting families for a spooky day of fun.

CITTA Mall transformed into a vibrant Halloween wonderland on Sunday as its much-loved Monster Party returned, bringing together families for a day filled with creativity, laughter, and community spirit. The annual event — now in its eighth edition — drew a lively crowd of children and parents, all eager to soak up the spooky fun that has become a hallmark of the Ara Damansara mall.

A day of colour, costumes, and creativity

From noon, the mall buzzed with activity as children took part in recycled arts and crafts sessions, turning discarded materials into eerie creations that showcased both imagination and environmental awareness. Families flocked to the themed photo booths, where miniature vampires, witches, and superheroes posed for keepsake snapshots against Halloween backdrops.

The highlight of the early afternoon was the Monster Parade, which saw the mall’s walkways filled with laughter and excitement. Young participants proudly displayed their costumes — from ghostly gowns and cobwebbed capes to hand-painted monster masks — drawing smiles and applause from shoppers and visitors who paused to admire their creativity.

Trick-or-treat adventure spreads smiles

As dusk approached, the familiar cry of “Trick or treat!” echoed through the mall, signalling the start of one of the day’s most anticipated traditions. Participating outlets joined in the fun, handing out sweets and small surprises to eager trick-or-treaters who darted from store to store, baskets brimming with goodies.

Parents watched on fondly as their children embraced the playful chaos, reliving the joy of community togetherness that the annual event inspires. The energy was infectious — from costumed toddlers toddling through candy trails to older kids strategising their sweetest route through participating stores.

A night to remember

The excitement reached its peak with the Children’s Halloween Costume Competition at 7:30pm. The stage came alive with colour and character as young contestants paraded their imaginative outfits — from spooky skeletons and grinning pumpkins to fierce little zombies. Each participant brought their own flair, dancing, twirling, or growling their way into the hearts of the cheering crowd.

Choosing winners proved a challenge for judges, as every child displayed a blend of creativity and confidence that embodied the spirit of the night. By evening’s end, the event once again affirmed its place as a cherished community tradition — one that celebrates not only the thrill of Halloween but also the joy of shared experiences.

Since its debut in 2015, CITTA Mall’s Monster Party has grown into a cornerstone of Ara Damansara’s festive calendar. After a brief hiatus during the pandemic, its comeback underscored the community’s enduring enthusiasm for light-hearted fun and family togetherness.

As the final jack-o’-lanterns flickered out, the echoes of laughter and the sparkle of delighted faces proved that Halloween at CITTA Mall is not just about spooky fun — it’s about creating memories that glow long after the night ends.
