Taman Molek plunges into total darkness

Taman Molek plunged into a total darkness after some intruders breached the TNB sub-station in Jalan Molek 2 by cutting through the perimeter fencing at around 2.20am here, this morning.

According to some eyewitnesses, there was a small explosion followed by the power failure affecting three-quarters of the housing estate.

The eyewitnesses said they saw a man running out frantically from the explosion scene screaming for help before disappearing into the dark alley.

“The man was seen to be partially burnt probably by the explosion”,  the eyewitnesses added.

A member of the public then called the police hotline and within five minutes, a police patrol car and several more on motorcycles arrived at the scene and combed the surrounding area looking for the suspect.

Meanwhile, two TNB maintenance crew vans were seen at the sub-station to inspect and assess the damages and try to restore power supply.
