JB Lions launch renalcare foundation

The Johor Bahru Lions Club in association with the MAA Medicare Charity Fund recently launched a Renalcare Foundation amidst much fanfare at Taman Sri Tebrau in Johor Bahru.

The Johor Bahru Lions Club in association with the MAA Medicare Charity Fund recently launched a Renalcare Foundation amidst much fanfare at Taman Sri Tebrau in Johor Bahru.

The launching of the foundation, which would provide free dialysis to struggling renal patients, was attended by Stulang assemblyperson Mok Chek Hou.

Under the co-operation, Lions club members will take care of the patient selection and also the patients’ welfate, whilst MAA Medicare will take care of the technical areas of the treatment.

This cooperation was first initiated in 1998 between eight Lions club and MAA together opened up Johor Bahru’s first dialysis centre in Taman Century.

The venture has grown over the years and fourteen Lions clubs have participated in the initiative so far.
