Kuala Lumpur – Want free burgers at McDonald’s this Friday? Unfortunately that’s not happening. The rumors of free meals are just a hoax.
McDonald’s Malaysia has denied any issues regarding announcement of alleged free food giveaway.
Numerous calls through circulation via social media on boycotting this fast food chain this Friday has led to these allegations due to the protest about Israel’s attacks on Palestine in Gaza.
“We would like to clarify that the notices on free McDonald’s food posted on Facebook were NOT issued by McDonald’s, and we are unable to honor it. It is a hoax produced by an irresponsible party,” they wrote on their official Facebook account yesterday.
McDonald’s have been fending off alleged accusations for weeks now that claims they are funding Israel.
In defense, they issued a statement claiming that those allegations were not true.
“We wish to stress that McDonald’s does not channel any proceeds from sales, profits or franchise fees from our restaurants to support any form of political campaign or conflict that happens in any countries in the world,” they said in a statement on its Facebook account of 11 July with no reference to what was happening in Gaza.
