MASkargo gets into the Sarawak act

Residents, including 2,042 hardcore poor households in Pulau Bruit, Mukah division, will be assured of clean and sustainable water supply for daily use once a specially shipped water treatment system is installed there, MASkargo’s Corporate Affairs Manager Anita Kushairy said.

MASkargo, in association with Yayasan Sejahtera, is helping the people of Pulau Bruit by transporting the system from Shanghai as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts.

“The 400kg water treatment system is shipped by barge to Pulau Bruit from here after it was flown onboard Malaysia Airlines from Pudong, Shanghai, transiting in Kuala Lumpur and repackaging before continuing onwards to Kuching,” she said in a statement here.

She was confident that the availability of clean water, which was essential to healthy living, would help ease the burden of the residents who did not have easy access to clean water before this.

The well-being of the community was foremost on MASkargo’s agenda, for which the company would do everything it could to contribute and help those who were less fortunate, she said.
