Jimmy Leow Beng HockAfter three and a half years, the wait is finally over!! JPP will compensate Tmn Kota Permai flash flood victims approximately RM 340,000 for damages incurred during frequent flash floods.
IKRAM pin pointed the sewage plant project nearby as the main cause of the problem. 21 houses will be paid between RM 5,000 to RM 25,000 depending on the severity of the flood lines.
The sewage project by JPP also caused structural damages to at least 60 houses nearby.
Despite a uphill battle, the Tmn Kota Permai folks finally met up with Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Peter Chin to discuss the situation. With them was Tan Teik Cheng of MCA.
An evaluation was launched after the meeting and IKRAM has confirmed the findings. All together, the final figure of the compensation is a whooping RM 1.90 million.
