Sungai Melaka monorail to resume service next month

The Sungai Melaka tourist monorail service suspended since Saturday is expected to resume operation early next month.

 

The Sungai Melaka tourist monorail service suspended since Saturday is expected to resume operation early next month.

Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam said monorail operator Taming Sari Sdn Bhd will meet the safety and facility snardards insisted by Land Publi Transport Commission (SPAD).

“Everything will be resolved and the monorail service will operate as usual early next month,” he told reporters after inspecting the monorail station in Taman Rempah near here today.

SPAD chief operating officer Azhar Ahmad last Saturday suspended the monorail service until operator meet safety and facility standards.

They include providing a crane called “Cherry Picker” to ferry stranded passengers if it stops and provide manuals in Malay or English language and strengthen the tyre grip.
