Filipino couple jailed over stolen MyKad

They were charged under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for the first offence and for the second offence they were charged under Section 25(1) (e) of the National Registration Rules 1990.

A Filipino couple pleaded guilty for possession of stolen MyKad in the Johor Bahru session court here yesterday.

Sanddang Atal, 41, will be serving one month in jail and one slash of caning for not having a valid entry pass and another two months for possession of stolen MyKad.

Meanwhile, Nurhikmah, 24, was sentenced to two months in jail for not having a valid entry pass and a further two months for possession of stolen MyKad.

The case was heard before Session court judge, Mazanah Sinin.

Both of them were charged under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Amendment 2003) for the first offence and for the second offence they were charged under Section 25(1) (e) of the National Registration Rules 1990 (Amendment 2001).

According to the prosecution witness testimony, Sanddang bought the stolen MyKad belonging to one Suraidi Abdul Malik, NRIC No. 780614-12-5883 of Sandakan, Sabah and Nurhikmah was found to be in possession of the stolen MyKad of Siti Norfazilah Juani, NRIC No. 920815-12-6854 of Kampong Petagas, Penampang, Sabah.
