A RM1.5 million haemodialysis centre by Yayasan Sultanah Bahiyah (YSB) is expected to operate in Kulim by the end of this year.
The centre will be located at Taman Kota Kenari, YSB chairwoman Tunku Intan Safinaz Sultan Abdul Halim said.
The centre is set up in collaboration with the National Kidney Foundation and the Kedah State Development Corporation, which helps provide 10 dialysis machines costing RM500,000, she said.
Like its first centre in Alor Setar, she said, the foundation would also provide free haemodialysis service to those in the low-income group and charge a minimum rate for those in the middle-income group.
