Indonesian woman fined and jailed in Johor

An Indonesian restaurant worker has been sentenced to a month in jail for shoplifting in a major shopping mall here in Taman Desa.

Siti Jamariah,22, pleaded guilty and was also fined RM2,000, after she was also found guilty of entering the country without a permit.

Both offences were committed on 30 January, 2011.

According to the charge sheet, she was caught stealing items worth RM303.88 which included cosmetics, chocolates and clothings.

Judge Hafizah Johor Ariff Johor fined the offender RM2,000 for the first offence and jailed her 1 month for the second offence.
