40 roads closed in KL for marathon

40 roads to be closed on the race day while roads around Dataran Merdeka would be closed from Saturday.

Forty roads in the capital will be closed in stages from 5am on Sunday to make way for the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2010.

The race will flag off and end at Dataran Merdeka.

The affected roads are:

Kuala Lumpur traffic chief ACP Rusli Mohd Noor said the roads would be closed in stages 15 minutes before the race started and reopened at noon.

However, he said the roads around Dataran Merdeka would be closed from Saturday.
He said 350 traffic policemen and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) officers would be deployed to regulate traffic flow.
The marathon is jointly organised by Standard Chartered Bank, DBKL and the Federal Territories Amateur Athletics Association.
