Enzo Sim, the talented author behind the captivating short story ‘The Great Hill,’ has been invited as a distinguished speaker at the upcoming Penang Hill Festival, which will take place on July 22.

Alongside renowned experts in history and tourism, Sim will share insights into the allure and significance of Penang Hill.

This year’s festival, organized by the Penang Hill Corporation (PHC), holds special significance as it commemorates the centennial celebration of Penang Hill’s iconic funicular railway.

The highlight of the festival will be the engaging talks by esteemed speakers, including Sim, Dr Tan Chee Seng, a senior lecturer from the History Section at the School of Humanities, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Clement Liang, president of the Penang Tourist Guides Association and history lecturer.

The talk, titled ‘Penang Hill & Its Vicinity – 100 years of Wonder,’ will take place at Bellevue Hotel from 9 am to 11 am. These informative sessions have been thoughtfully designed to enhance people’s understanding of the rich history and natural wonders of Penang Hill.

Enzo Sim, a history and international politics researcher, has dedicated his passion for Southeast Asian history to documenting the fascinating stories of Penang Hill. His lifelong interest in history began at a young age, and he pursued it further during his studies in Mass Communications at KDU Penang.

As a staff writer at Penang Institute, Sim contributed articles to Penang Monthly, where he shared his findings on key historical events in Penang and Malaya.

Recognizing his expertise and commitment, the Penang Hill Corporation appointed Sim as a member of the Penang Hill Gallery consultative panel. He played a crucial role in drafting the historical contents of the funicular railway gallery at the Penang Hill Gallery.
