In a formal ceremony held at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters, former Bukit Aman Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) Deputy Director, Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, was sworn in as the new Kuala Lumpur Police Chief. The event marked a significant transition as he assumed the role from Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, who has been appointed as the Director of the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) effective tomorrow.

The handing over ceremony was a momentous occasion, witnessed by notable dignitaries including the Federal Integrity and Standards Compliance Department Director, Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad. During the ceremony, Azri lauded Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain for his exceptional service during his tenure as the City Police Chief since May. Azri acknowledged Shuhaily’s dedication to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Kuala Lumpur’s residents, and expressed confidence in the new chief, Datuk Allaudeen, to continue upholding the same high standards.

“I am certain that he has given his best to ensure the safety and wellbeing of KL city and its people throughout his service as city police chief. The new chief was no different in executing his duties in his former post. Thus, I’m confident that he too will continue the excellent service of Shuhaily,” Azri remarked in his congratulatory speech.

A bright future ahead

As Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain prepares to take up his new role at Bukit Aman, Azri conveyed his well wishes for the outgoing City Police Chief. Earlier, Shuhaily delivered an inspiring address, referred to as ‘Amanat bersama KPKL,’ where he shared valuable advice and hopes for his fellow officers in the police force. Shuhaily extended his best wishes to all and took the opportunity to congratulate two officers who had recently earned promotions at IPKKL.

Before the official handover ceremony, Azri inspected a guard of honor, a symbol of the dedication and commitment displayed by the police force, before bearing witness to the transition of responsibilities.

New leadership, continued dedication

Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, now the Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, comes into this position with a proven track record. As the former Deputy Director of Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standards Compliance Department, he brings a wealth of experience and commitment to the role. His swearing-in ceremony was conducted with power of attorney, solidifying his authority and responsibility.

Allaudeen takes over the helm of the Kuala Lumpur Police with a clear commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the city’s residents. The transition in leadership promises to be a seamless continuation of the dedicated service that the Kuala Lumpur Police have consistently provided.
