Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital (KKD) Teo Nie Ching marked an inspiring occasion as she officiated the launch of the Digital Ninja #GirlsInTech programme.

This initiative, in conjunction with International Girls in ICT Day 2023, seeks to ignite the spark of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in girls and young women.

This impactful programme, organised by the Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) in collaboration with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), is designed to empower girls and young women by encouraging them to pursue STEM courses.

It doesn’t stop at mere encouragement; participants in this programme have already showcased their excellence through a series of competitions conducted in partnership with the private sector and local universities.

These bright young minds have been provided with valuable opportunities, including special digital skills training, rigorous leadership bootcamps, and industry-focused training. This initiative has also received support from key figures, including the Secretary-General of KKD, Datuk Mohamad Fauzi bin Md Isa, and the Chairman of MDEC, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh

Through education, skills development, and mentorship, they are well on their way to becoming the tech leaders of tomorrow. This initiative not only empowers individual girls but also contributes to the broader goal of promoting gender diversity and inclusivity in the STEM workforce.
