In his Malaysian premiere, Liberski offers more than just Belgian jazz. He curates a selection of what he calls “small masterpieces,” drawing from jazz, soundtracks, classical music, and pop, creating a tapestry of personal memories and nostalgia.

His journey in music began at a young age, forming his trio at just 13. Notably, in 2006, he became the first European to receive the exclusive Presidential Scholarship from Berklee College of Music, where he learned from prominent artists like Brad Mehldau, Danilo Perez, and more.

Liberski’s music defies categorization, pulling inspiration from diverse sources such as Nintendo games, grunge, alternative rock, and even cartoons. His albums, including “Brussels 2020,” “Cosmic Liberty,” “Atomic Rabbit,” “The Caveless Wolf,” and “Evanescences,” offer a range of musical experiences.

He’s not fixated on theory but values the unlearnable: feeling. For him, music is about intuition and sensitivity, and it’s these emotions that resonate during his live performances.

The passion for the arts runs in Liberski’s blood. Before embracing music, he aspired to be a comics artist and was influenced by his father, Stefan Liberski, a filmmaker, writer, actor, and author.

Casimir has contributed soundtracks to his father’s films, including “Tokyo Fiancée” and “Bunker Paradise.” His work on “Tokyo Fiancée” earned him a nomination for best screen composer at Ghent’s film festival in 2014.

In 2016, he made a notable appearance with visual artist Jean-Luc Moerman at Queen Elisabeth’s Music Chapel in Belgium, marking their first non-classical performance. The same year, he secured the 3rd prize at the Parmigiani Montreux Solo Piano Competition.
