The Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF), Southeast Asia’s premier furniture event, is gearing up for its 30th-anniversary edition from March 1 to 4.
With a surge in international demand, this milestone edition is set to be more spectacular than ever.
MIFF has reached full capacity at its two venues—Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), underscoring its impact on global furniture trade.
MIFF: Demand soars, halls overflow
In 2023, MIFF witnessed a record 19% jump in orders to US$1.21 billion with 673 exhibitors. The 2024 edition is anticipated to host over 20,000 visitors from 140 countries and regions.
Covering 17 halls across 100,000 sqm, MIFF 2024 will showcase exhibitors from various countries, offering a diverse range of innovative designs and products.
The event stands as the largest export showroom of Malaysian solid wood furniture and office furniture in Southeast Asia.
This year’s MIFF Furniture Design Competition, themed “Chair-Volution: Celebrating 30 Years of Innovation and Design,” aligns with MIFF’s legacy and aims to attract young designers to the industry.
Winners will be announced alongside exhibitor awards for Best Presentation Award and Furniture Excellence Award on the third day of the show.
MIFF App: Portal to a furniture paradise
MIFF 2024 introduces new elements to enhance the attendee experience, including the MIFF Furniverse App.
This app serves as an essential companion, allowing attendees to personalise their journey, access detailed information on exhibitors, and source from thousands of products across both venues.
Additionally, MIFF embraces sustainability with a virtual tree planting programme and limited edition MIFF gold coins for pre-registered overseas visitors.
The MIFF Furniverse App facilitates business momentum and networking, starting well before the event, providing a preview of new products and allowing pre-arranged appointments.
Registered overseas buyers receive special privileges, including a dedicated lane at immigration checkpoints and limousine vouchers at MIFF Courtesy Counters.
First-time trade visitors can enjoy complimentary hotel stays through the Valued Visitor Privilege (VVP) Programme.
As part of MIFF’s 30th-anniversary celebration, a virtual tree planting initiative will bring exhibitors and buyers together to highlight the industry’s commitment to a more sustainable future.
The event will feature networking opportunities such as Buyers’ Night and MIFF Industry Seminars, fostering connections and insights.
Kelie Lim, General Manager of MIFF, expressed excitement about the growth and enhanced experience, stating, “We want everyone to feel exceptional when they walk through the MIFF door.”
MIFF continues to receive solid support from the Malaysian furniture industry and its Strategic Partner, the Muar Furniture Association (MFA).
Steve Ong, MFA President, highlighted the positive impact on business growth, stating, “More buyers with significant buying power are coming to MIFF, and this is good for business growth.”
With cumulative sales of US$18.4 billion and 182,000 buyers from 140 countries and regions since 1995, MIFF stands as a testament to its enduring success and global influence in the furniture industry.
