Dubai-based carrier flydubai commenced operations to Penang on February 10, coinciding with the auspicious first day of the Chinese New Year.

The inaugural flights, landing at Penang International Airport (PEN) received a warm welcome by local authorities, marking flydubai as the first carrier to offer daily services from Dubai to these two Malaysian destinations.

With the launch of flights to Penang and Langkawi, flydubai extends its network in Southeast Asia to encompass four destinations across two countries.

These include Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia, along with Krabi and Pattaya in Thailand.

The timing of flydubai’s inaugural flight, coinciding with the commencement of Chinese New Year, presents an exciting opportunity for tourists to engage in multicultural festivities and vibrant events in Penang.

Wong Hon Wai, Penang State EXCO for Tourism and Creative Economy (PETACE), expressed enthusiasm.

“We are thrilled that flydubai has introduced Dubai to Penang and Langkawi,” marking a significant milestone for the airport.
