AirAsia X (AAX) strengthens its foothold in China with the resumption of direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Changsha, starting July 5th, 2024.

This announcement follows the airline’s recent inaugural flight to Xi’an, underscoring its dedication to expanding its Chinese network.

Expanding presence in the Chinese market

Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, will be served by four weekly flights initially.

This historic and cultural city boasts the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, Wu Ling Yuan (Zhangjiajie), a filming location for the blockbuster movie Avatar.

AAX anticipates strong demand for this route, with plans for future expansion based on passenger numbers.

Changsha is AAX’s sixth direct route to China, complementing AirAsia Malaysia’s (AK) existing network of 12 destinations within Greater China.
