Owners of iconic VW Beetle unite at CITTA Mall

CITTA Mall’s open car park hosted over 100 VW Beetle enthusiasts celebrating the iconic car’s legacy, with activities and local business support.

CITTA Mall’s open car park was transformed into a vibrant celebration of automotive history, drawing over 100 Volkswagen Beetle enthusiasts from across Malaysia. The event commemorated the iconic car’s legacy, tracing its roots back to Ferdinand Porsche’s 1934 contract to develop the VW Beetle for Germany’s new road network.

Khoo Teng Tsen of Cheras, Selangor, a dedicated Volkswagen Beetle enthusiast, organized the gathering, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of an annual reunion for like-minded owners. From its inception as a “People’s car,” the Beetle has become a global icon, beloved by generations.

Among the attendees was Ang Kim Hock, 46, proudly showcasing his 9-seater Volkswagen Camper Van. Setting up camp with his children and friends, Ang appreciated CITTA Mall’s open-air concept. “I like the venue as it is an open-air concept, and the vast space available makes the atmosphere merrier,” Ang noted.
