Heineken® House brought music fans together through shared passions and real-world connections as the brand’s largest music event in Malaysia took place on Aug 15, headlined by Swedish DJ and producer Axwell, alongside Baby J and Tye Turner.
The event marked the culmination of months of Heineken® House Sessions and drew music enthusiasts from Kuala Lumpur and across the country for an evening centred on music, friendship and shared experiences.

The event was built around Heineken®’s global Fans Have More Friends platform and its local Just Say Hei campaign, which encourages people to take the first step towards connecting with others through a simple greeting.
The Clinker creates new connections through music
A key feature was the Hei Zone, which marked the Malaysian debut of The Clinker, Heineken®’s social innovation designed to turn shared musical interests into opportunities for interaction.
First introduced at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival earlier this year, The Clinker is worn around a Heineken® cup and uses music preferences to identify fans with common interests. The smart band lights up when a connection is identified, providing a simple prompt for two people to break the ice.

The concept offered a physical expression of the Fans Have More Friends platform, demonstrating how a shared interest can provide an opening for strangers to start a conversation and potentially form new friendships.
“Music has always had the unique ability to bring people together, but the best moments happen when fans go beyond sharing the same playlist and start creating real connections,” said Sean O’Donnell, Marketing Director of HEINEKEN Malaysia.
“At the heart of Just Say Hei is the belief that making the first move shouldn’t feel intimidating. Heineken® House and the Hei Zone were designed to give people the confidence to say hello and see where it leads,” he added.
Axwell leads festival-scale music celebration
Following the Hei Zone experience, fans moved into two immersive music rooms featuring a mix of international, regional and local performances.
At Star Arena, Axwell delivered the headline performance, bringing festival-scale energy to the event with a set featuring dance anthems and fan favourites. His performance provided a high-energy focal point for fans gathered in the venue.
Meanwhile, Star Club offered a more intimate 360-degree setting, with Baby J and Tye Turner performing a back-to-back set spanning house, techno and baile funk.
The dual-room format reflected the diversity of music fandoms while providing different environments for fans to discover performances and connect with others who shared their musical interests.

Through Fans Have More Friends, Heineken® said it will continue encouraging real-world social connections through shared passions including music, football and Formula 1®.
The brand said the campaign aims to encourage people to step away from screens and engage with others, highlighting how new friendships can begin with a simple “Hei”.
All promotions and campaign events are strictly for non-Muslims aged 21 and above and subject to terms and conditions. Heineken® also reminded consumers to enjoy responsibly, including never drinking and driving.
