Heavy rain caused flash floods in parts of Puncak Alam on Thursday afternoon, 5 November. Water entered several homes in Kampung Johan Setia.
It also spilled onto main roads in Taman Seri Alam, Saujana Utama.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received three calls about the floods. Here is what we know so far.
Where the water rose

The campus of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Puncak Alam was one of the affected spots. Meanwhile, videos shared on social media show the bus waiting area flooded. A road on campus also lay under muddy water. One user described the water as reaching calf level at the bus stop.
The UiTM kindergarten also took in water. Even so, by the time firefighters arrived at 5.26pm, the water had receded. No rescue was needed there. The report places the campus in Kuala Selangor.
In Kampung Johan Setia, however, floodwater reached about 0.3m. It entered several homes. The report gives no count of houses. JBPM said no evacuation was carried out in the village.
In Taman Seri Alam, the water was also about 0.3m. Officials blamed heavy rain and overflow from a nearby retention pond. As a result, water spilled onto main roads and disrupted traffic. No evacuation was needed there.
What the authorities said

Operations assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar of JBPM said a team from the Bestari Jaya station was on its way. He said further updates would follow.
Ashrul said JBPM received three calls on Thursday. They came from Kampung Johan Setia, the UiTM campus and Taman Seri Alam. Meanwhile, the report on the floods does not mention injuries. It also gives no figure for affected vehicles or residents. In short, the full extent is not yet clear. Overall, details may change.
Meanwhile, in one video, a resident urged neighbours in the area to move their vehicles to safer places. The report does not say whether any roads were closed. Nor does it carry a weather warning from the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
A wet week in the Klang Valley

However, Puncak Alam has flooded before. In August, Malay Mail reported flash floods after an hour-long downpour. As a result, about one foot of water covered Jalan Persiaran Puncak Alam 6. Ashrul’s team assessed the road then, too. No one was evacuated.
Likewise, on 2 November, flash floods hit other parts of the Klang Valley. We reported floods at TTDI, Bukit Jalil and the Federal Highway. Kampung Melayu Subang was the worst hit. The Sungai Damansara spilled over there.
In addition, our flash flood advice quoted Sungai Buloh MP Datuk Seri R. Ramanan. He said more than 500 houses were hit around Sungai Buloh, especially Kampung Melayu Subang. He urged residents to put safety first.
So, PLUS Malaysia has warned drivers to avoid flooded roads. Even shallow-looking water can stall an engine or sweep a car away. Drivers should check traffic updates before they set out.
For now, the facts on Puncak Alam are limited. The main points are water levels of about 0.3m, three calls to JBPM and no evacuations. Still, residents in low-lying areas may want to watch for JBPM updates.
