Resorts World Genting unveils premium EV shuttle service

Resorts World Genting launches DENZA D9 EV shuttle service, advancing sustainable mobility and premium guest transport experience.

Resorts World Genting (RWG) has introduced its first-ever multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) electric vehicle (EV) shuttle service with the official handover of DENZA D9 Premium vehicles, marking another step in the resort’s sustainability journey.

The handover ceremony, held at Awana Village yesterday morning, brought together representatives from RWG, DENZA Sime Motors and BYD Sime Motors to commemorate the collaboration aimed at promoting greener transportation within the resort.

The newly introduced DENZA D9 Premium EVs will operate shuttle services between Genting Grand and Crockfords, providing guests with a quieter, smoother and more environmentally friendly travel experience within the integrated resort.

RWG said the initiative aligns with its broader sustainability efforts to reduce carbon emissions and incorporate greener mobility solutions across its operations.

Speaking during the ceremony, Spencer Lee, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Public Relations of RWG, said the adoption of cleaner transportation alternatives was part of the resort’s long-term sustainability goals while also enhancing visitor experience.

“The introduction of the DENZA D9 EV shuttle service marks an important milestone in RWG’s sustainability journey. As we continue exploring greener initiatives across our operations, we also want to elevate the guest experience by providing transportation that is not only efficient and luxurious, but also environmentally responsible,” he said.

RWG described itself as the first integrated resort in the industry to incorporate the DENZA D9 Premium into its transportation service operations, reflecting its emphasis on innovation and sustainable hospitality practices.

Luxury EVs support broader environmental commitments

The fully electric DENZA D9 Premium is powered by BYD’s Blade Battery technology and is designed to offer both efficiency and passenger comfort. The luxury MPV features a spacious three-row seating configuration, premium NAPPA leather seats and enhanced cabin comfort aimed at improving the guest shuttle experience.

Bea Kwang Tat, Head of Retail at Denza Sime Motors, said the collaboration reflected the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in Malaysia while delivering premium electric mobility solutions.

“We are honoured that RWG has chosen the DENZA D9 for its shuttle service. Designed to deliver refined comfort and sophistication, we believe the D9 will elevate the overall guest experience in line with the resort’s positioning. This handover marks the beginning of a longer journey, as we continue to grow our presence in Malaysia and deliver outstanding products and services our customers can trust,” he said.

Beyond green mobility initiatives, RWG has also introduced eco-tourism and nature-focused attractions across the resort. These include Eufloria, a nature-inspired floral and sculpture garden promoting biodiversity appreciation, and Genting Nature Adventures, which encourages guests to explore the surrounding rainforest environment through immersive outdoor experiences.

The introduction of the EV shuttle service forms part of RWG’s continuing efforts to strengthen sustainable operations while balancing hospitality, tourism and environmental considerations.
