LEGOLAND School Challenge is back for the 2nd year

LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort is bringing back the highly anticipated LEGOLAND® School Challenge for its second edition.

This year, the competition is expanding its reach to include students from ASEAN countries, allowing young builders from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines to participate.

The LEGOLAND School Challenge encourages students aged 7 to 12 and 13 to 17 to unleash their imagination and create their dream worlds using LEGO® bricks. With the theme of “Cities of The Future,” the competition aims to inspire creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Expanding the LEGOLAND School Challenge

LEGOLAND School Challenge is reaching new horizons by expanding its region to involve students from ASEAN countries.

This move opens up the competition to a wider pool of young builders and fosters cultural exchange among participants.

By including schools from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines, the LEGOLAND School Challenge aims to celebrate the diverse talents and perspectives of young builders throughout the region.

LEGOLAND School Challenge is rooted in LEGO’s philosophy of learning through play. By participating in the competition, students are encouraged to develop a lifelong love for learning and exploration.

The competition adopts a STEM approach, emphasizing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, to nurture essential skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-confidence.

Through the creative process of building with LEGO bricks, students are empowered to think innovatively and envision a future they can actively shape.

Official recognition and partnerships

The LEGOLAND School Challenge has gained recognition from the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MoE) and is now an official part of the country’s extracurricular program.

This recognition underscores the educational value of the competition and highlights its alignment with the nation’s educational goals.

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Johor Tourism, Johor State Education Department, and Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) have joined hands to make the competition possible. This collaboration demonstrates the collective commitment to providing young minds with opportunities for growth, exploration, and creativity.

To participate in the LEGOLAND School Challenge, interested students aged 7 to 12 and 13 to 17 can register from now until 26 May 2023.

The submission period for the competition will take place from 19 June to 7 July 2023. Winning teams and their schools will receive recognition, and the impressive entries will be showcased at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, providing a platform for young talents to exhibit their creative achievements.
