The Zen affordable homes project nears completion

Asia Green Group’s affordable homes project, The Zen, in Penang is progressing well and set to be completed early next year.

The Zen, an affordable homes project by Asia Green Group, is making significant progress in Penang, with an expected completion date in early 2024.

Jagdeep Singh Deo, the caretaker state Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman, expressed satisfaction with the project’s advancement during a recent visit to the construction site.

The development aims to provide affordable housing options without compromising quality, emphasizing Penang’s commitment to the well-being of its residents.

Progress and quality assurance

Jagdeep Singh Deo, along with representatives from the Penang Housing Board, architects, and Asia Green Group, assessed the construction site located at Persiaran Bayan Mutiara in Gelugor.

The chairman announced that The Zen is currently 90% complete and is expected to obtain its Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) in early 2024. Penang’s stringent standards ensure that the well-being of the people is never compromised in housing projects.

The Zen serves as an example of the state’s commitment to providing affordable homes and becoming a model for housing initiatives.

The Zen: Affordable homes and achievements

The Zen offers a mix of affordable homes and condominium units. All 1,200 affordable units, measuring 850 square feet each, have already been sold out, highlighting the demand for affordable housing in Penang.

Jagdeep Singh Deo shared that the state government has made significant progress in delivering affordable homes, with 152,263 units currently in various stages of completion or already completed.

This accomplishment represents 69.2% of the state’s target to provide 220,000 units of affordable homes by 2030.

Future owners of The Zen can look forward to a range of amenities and facilities, including a swimming pool and recreational spaces.
