Emphasizing the state’s Green Agenda 2030, Jagdeep shares his enthusiasm for the inclusion of environmental sustainability measures in the Gurney Bay project. The committee aims to plant around 10,000 trees within the park, aligning with the Penang Green Agenda 2030’s objectives. This commitment to green initiatives reflects Penang’s vision of creating an environmentally conscious and sustainable community.

The Gurney Bay project, initiated in 2016, encompasses two priorities: Priority 1 and Priority 2. Priority 1 includes various components such as a children’s play area, skate park, viewing deck, public toilets, promenade, hawker stalls, retail areas, and a recreation park. Additionally, there will be hawker kiosks, open car parking space, and a reclamation area for water bodies, offering diverse experiences and amenities for park visitors.

Priority 2 encompasses a range of facilities, including a hawker centre, retail area, convenience stores, additional viewing decks, public toilets, multi-storey and open car parks, a water garden, a surau, a water taxi jetty, a man-made beach, a boardwalk, and more.
