Photoblog: Dancing to bridge racial divide

JOHOR BAHRU – Guest-of-honour, Senator Khoo Soo Seang told Citizen Journalists Malaysia (CJMY) that the main reason in organising this event was to create an opportunity for people of different races to come together.

Pusat Khidmat Ahli Parlimen Tebrau, organised the Pertandingan Tarian Belia 1 Malaysia 2012 which was co-organised by MCA Tebrau Chapter and SR Soul Rhythm Dance School which was held in Foon Yew Chinese Primary School 5,  Taman Mount Austin, Johor Bahru, here, last Sunday.

The one-day dance competition is sponsored by Kementerian Pelancongan Malaysia.

Guest-of-honour, Senator Khoo Soo Seang told Citizen Journalists Malaysia (CJMY) that the main reason in organising this event was to create an opportunity for people of different races to come together.

He added and said, since dancing is the common interest for all races and of all age groups, this is an appropriate time to promote greater unity.

Thirty-five teams participated in the one-day competition including flash-mob dance performed by SR Dance School dancers and Indonesia, Philippines and Kuala Lumpur break-dancers also took part in the event.
