The Johor Bahru Immigration enforcement team raided an entertainment outlet in Taman Nusajaya and detained eight foreign guest relation officers (GROs) under the operation code ‘Ops Sayang’ here last Saturday.

?The Johor Bahru Immigration enforcement team raided an entertainment outlet in Taman Nusajaya and detained eight foreign guest relation officers (GROs) under the operation code ‘Ops Sayang’  here last Saturday.

Deputy director of the Johor Immigration department, Masri Abdul said that the girls tried to escape through a secret compartmental door inside the entertainment outlet when they realised that their officers were raiding the place.

“The girls’ escape attempts were foiled as our raiding team had surronded  the area,” he said.

The eight girls, aged between 22 to 36 years old, are from Vietnam and Philippines, and havebeen working in the entertainment outlet for the last few weeks.

They were detained for abusing their social visit passes and also working without valid permit.

All of them have been sent to the Pekan Nenas Immigration detention deport for further action.

The case will be investigated under Section 39 (B) of the Immigration Act 1963 for working without valid permit.
