Sabahan Tracie Sinidol, the talented actress, took the Dewi Remaja 2022 crown in the finale held at the Dewan Sri Putra, Bukit Jalil.
The Tambunan-born Tracie won a cash prize of RM 10,000, a trophy and the much coveted Dewi Remaja tiara.
Tracie defeated sixteen other contestants in an eight-week pageant show televised on Astro Ria.
Apart from the main prize, Tracie also won the additional prize Dewi Favourite based on the votes received from the fans.
In 2019, Tracie won Tambunan Unduk Ngadau Borderless contest. She went on to contest at the state-level Unduk Ngadau pageant.
During the press conference, Tracie said that the pageant offered the contestant immeasurable knowledge to grow and prepare themselves for real-life challenges.
Tracie also explained that she had never thought of going as far as winning the pageant. Furthermore, she also revealed to Kosmo that she’s planning to venture into local showbiz.
Meanwhile, twenty-two-year-old Siti Nur Aishah Bee took the first runner-up spot and Kuala Lumpur born Kimberly Chuah Ching Li emerged as the second runner-up.
Siti Nur Aishah received an RM7,000 cash prize and a trophy, and Kimberely walked away with an RM5,000 cash prize and a trophy.
Jury Datuk Aznil Nawawi said that the potential shown by the contestants is almost similar, and the difference in marks obtained is also very narrow.
“Collectively, the marks from the seven weeks of the program and the finale represents 30% and 70% of the overall marks, respectively,” he added.
The jury for the finale was Aznil Nawawi, Izara Aishah and Didie Alia, and Fikry Ibrahim hosted the event.
The show also saw performances by Noraniza Idris, Wani Kayrie, Amsyar Lee, and Isaac Voo.
Nu Ideaktiv Sdn Bhd and Astro made the 2022 edition of Dewi Remaja into a reality show for eight weeks. The show saw the sixteen contestants going through various programs and activities leading up to the finale.
