Pesta Kuantan 188: A Journey through culture and fun
Kuantan 188, being a prominent choice for travellers, provides the perfect backdrop for the 2023 Pesta Kuantan 188 festival, showcasing the unique culture and geography of the region. The three-day event will feature an array of family-friendly activities that promise endless fun and entertainment.
One of the main attractions is the Royal Pahang Dragon Boat Race, known as the “Royal Pahang Dragon Boat Regatta 2023.” From 30 to 31 July, teams from the Pahang Open and Pahang Closed divisions will compete for the top honours, including cups, medals, and cash prizes.
The race will kick off at the Jetty for the Marine Department of Kuantan and conclude in front of the majestic Kuantan 188 Tower. With 34 teams already confirmed, this dragon boat race will surely be a thrilling spectacle.
In addition to the dragon boat race, Pesta Kuantan 188 will showcase cultural performances by renowned groups such as Majlis Bandaraya Kuantan, Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negeri, and Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri.
Visitors can enjoy captivating fashion shows, energetic Zumba sessions, and explore retail booths featuring handcrafted items and delectable local cuisine. The event will also include a Fun Run and Fun Ride, offering a 5km run and a 35km cycle track for participants seeking an active adventure.
Star-studded concert and breathtaking views
The grand finale of Pesta Kuantan 188 is a mesmerising free-entry concert on 31 July 2023. A-list artists, including Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, Cakra Khan, Ameng Spring, Aizat Amdan, Aishah Retno, Santesh, and the renowned Malaysian actor and comedian Harith Iskander, will grace the stage. Adding to the spectacle, there will be a technology display of projection mapping on the impressive shaft of the Kuantan 188 Tower, starting at 9:00 P.M.
The festival coincides with the birthdays of KDYMM Yang Di Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj. To celebrate these special occasions, Kuantan 188 will host an exclusive closed-door dinner at the tower.
