Sejahtera Raya at KLWC fosters unity and giving

KL Wellness City’s “Sejahtera Raya Bersama KLWC” celebrated unity with cultural performances, charity donations, and a vision for wellness excellence.

KL Wellness City (KLWC) recently hosted “Sejahtera Raya Bersama KLWC,” a Raya festive gathering aimed at uniting the community through cultural performances, traditional delicacies, and the premiere of a special Hari Raya music video. Held at the KLWC Show Gallery in Bukit Jalil, the event reflected the township’s ongoing commitment to promoting community spirit, well-being, and inclusivity.

The event was officiated by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Seri TPr (Dr.) Maimunah Binti Mohd Sharif, the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, whose speech was delivered by the Executive Director (Project Management) of DBKL on her behalf. In her remarks, Dato’ Seri Maimunah commended KLWC’s efforts to foster a sense of community during the festive season.

“In the spirit of Hari Raya, we are reminded of the importance of togetherness, generosity, and well-being. I commend KLWC for its ongoing commitment to community engagement, sustainability, and inclusivity. Their initiative today reflects the values that make Kuala Lumpur a city that thrives on compassion and shared prosperity,” she said.

The celebration was further elevated by the presence of VIP guest Y.M. Tengku Dato’ Dr. Hishammuddin Zaizi Bin Y.A.M. Tengku Bendahara Azman Shah Alhaj, alongside other distinguished attendees.

A major highlight of the event was the debut of a special Hari Raya music video featuring more than 25 KLWC staff members. Under the leadership of Dato’ Sri Dr. Vincent Tiew, Branding, Sales, and Marketing Director of KLWC, the video captured the essence of nostalgia, unity, and togetherness.

He emphasised that it is a cherished KLWC tradition to celebrate Malaysia’s vibrant festive seasons, from Chinese New Year to Raya with joy, unity and style. He also expressed his hope to continue this meaningful tradition for years to come.

Supporting Underprivileged Communities

More than just a celebration, “Sejahtera Raya Bersama KLWC” embodied the spirit of giving back. KLWC extended financial support totaling RM12,500 to five orphanages, reinforcing its dedication to uplifting underprivileged communities. The beneficiaries of this initiative included:

  • Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Yatim & Miskin Al-Munirah Klang
  • Pertubuhan Pendidikan Anak-Anak Yatim Selangor
  • Rumah Perlindungan Nur Qaseh
  • Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Jalinan Kasih Anak Yatim Miskin Selangor
  • Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Kepada Pesakit HIV/AIDS Nurul Iman Malaysia (PERNIM)

Since last year, KLWC has broadened its charitable efforts to over 28 old folks’ homes and orphanages through various festive celebrations. This consistent outreach reflects KLWC’s vision to ensure that vulnerable communities experience the warmth and joy of major cultural festivities.

“‘Sejahtera Raya Bersama KLWC’ is a time for celebration as well as an opportunity to foster a culture of giving and togetherness. This is what defines KLWC. We are not just a wellness-focused township but a community that uplifts and supports those in need,” said Dato’ Dr. Colin Lee, Managing Director of KL Wellness City.

A Transformative Vision for Wellness

Beyond its community-focused initiatives, KLWC is making significant progress toward becoming a world-class wellness and medical hub. Since the launch of Phase One in May 2024, the project has reached 50% structural completion—well ahead of schedule.

The much-anticipated KL International Hospital (KLIH) and The Nobel Healthcare Park are on track to open in the second half of 2026. These developments aim to strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s position as a leading destination for medical tourism and healthcare excellence. Plans for a helipad are also in motion to enhance emergency medical response capabilities.

In her speech, Dato’ Seri Maimunah highlighted KLWC’s transformative potential for the city’s global reputation.

“KL Wellness City is setting a new benchmark for urban development by prioritising health, accessibility, and sustainability. From its wheelchair-friendly township to the management of the 1.33-acre Central Park, this is a development designed for people, not just infrastructure. With the establishment of KLIH, Kuala Lumpur’s reputation as a premier medical tourism destination will undoubtedly be enhanced,” she said.

Dato’ Dr. Colin Lee reinforced KLWC’s vision of positioning Kuala Lumpur as a global leader in medical excellence.

“KL Wellness City is not just a development; it is a transformative vision that places Kuala Lumpur on the world medical map. With state-of-the-art healthcare infrastructure, a fully integrated wellness ecosystem, and a commitment to sustainability, KLWC is setting new benchmarks in medical excellence and holistic well-being,” he added.

Commitment to Sustainability

KLWC’s focus on sustainability is evident through its Green Building Index (GBI) certification for both KL International Hospital and The Nobel Healthcare Park. This certification reflects KLWC’s commitment to reducing environmental impact while promoting energy efficiency and long-term sustainability.

The township’s 1.33-acre Central Park is designed as a green sanctuary for community engagement and well-being. It includes a jogging and cycling track, a pocket forest, a rain garden to enhance biodiversity, and the Green Amphitheatre—a theatre-style gathering space for wellness activities and cultural events.

In keeping with its commitment to fostering a connected and inclusive community, KLWC invites the public to join its Hari Raya Open House on Saturday, 19 April, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the KLWC Gallery in Bukit Jalil. Visitors can look forward to a festive celebration filled with traditional delicacies and exciting activities, welcoming all to share in the spirit of Raya.
